First paperback edition. First paperback edition. 159, [1] pp. Bound in publisher's illustrated wraps. Very Good with sticker wear to front wrap, a few small chips at edges, pages toned with age. An important lost novel of gay life first published in 1933 as Better Angel at the end of a brief "pansy craze" in culture that would close with the grim realities of the Great Depression. Most notably the novel has a happy ending for the gay protagonist, which was basically verboten at the time. This paperback original was printed in 1951 at the very dawn of a new era in gay rights.
