Reprints an appreciation by Henry Miller of the artist, "Benno, the Wild Man of Borneo," which previously appeared in The Booster in 1937 on the occasion of a gallery exhibition of Benno's in Paris. This exhibition took place at the Jane Voorhes Zimmerli Mueum, Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, September 11-November 20, 1988. Arriving in the US at the age of 11, Benno was first educated at a Ferrer school in New York, which was connected to the anarchist movement and wider artistic circles. Scarce.
