Illustrated with black-and-white photograph. "Dr. Ben Carson is known as the originator of ground-breaking surgical procedures, a doctor who turns impossible hopes into joyous realities. He is known as well as a compassionate humanitarian who reaches beyond corporate boardrooms to touch the lives of inner-city kids. What drive him? The Big Picture. A vision of something truly worth living for, something that calls forth the best of his amazing talents, energy and focus. In The Big Picture, Dr. Carson shares with you the overarching philosophy that has shaped his life, causing him to rise from failure to far-reaching influence. This book is not about HOW to succeed - it's about WHY to succeed. It's about broadening your perspectives. It's about finding a vision for your own life that can reframe your priorities, energize your efforts, and inspire you to change the world around you." - from the rear outer cover.

Octavo softcover (VG); all our specials have minimal description to keep listing them viable. They are at least reading copies, complete and in reasonable condition, but usually secondhand; frequently they are superior examples. Ordering more than one book will reduce your overall postage cost.,

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Inscribed by Ben Carson on front end page. Hardcover and dust jacket. Good binding and cover. Shelf wear. Pages unmarked. 236 p., 24 cm. *Autographed by author.* Dr. Ben Carson is an American politician and neurosurgeon who performed the first successful separation of conjoined twins who were attached at the back of the head (occipital craniopagus twins). The operation, which took place in 1987, lasted some 22 hours and involved a 70-member surgical team. Carson also refined a technique known as hemispherectomy, in which one-half of the brain is removed to prevent seizures in persons with severe epilepsy. He later became active in politics and served as U.S. secretary of housing and urban development (HUD; 2017-21) in the administration of U.S. Pres. Donald Trump. Signed.
