Kindergarten-Grade 4-little.com leads a double life. By day he lives in your computer mouse, but once the lights are out he comes out to visit his best friend, the Duchess of Amalfi, who invites him to tea and serves his favorite beverage, ink. He delights in naughty deeds, usually involving the Duke of Bigot"n's White Army and roller skates. Tucked into all this nonsense is a slight love story between the Duchess and Duke, which leads to marriage and a new role for little. Kids will be hard pressed to find much plot or logic in all of this, but the frenetic illustrations, reminiscent of the work of Joan Mir", are wildly exuberant and oddly fascinating. Courageous teachers might try this as a read-aloud but many children will be more bemused than amused. Public libraries with large budgets might consider this as a nonessential but interesting purchase, and bookstores with staff ready to hand-sell might stock it as well. Cheryl Scheer, Denver P.L., CO
