Albert’s vacation was amazing―or so he thought. To his friends, his time in Maine was boring. Dull. Lame. They’ve got a much more vivid idea of what Albert could, and should, have done on his trip. But Albert might just have a surprise for his friends, after all.Marty Kelley tells this wonderful read-aloud story in a fresh and imaginative way, contrasting panels of black-and-white charcoal drawings of dull old Albert with bursting-with-color spreads of what Albert’s friends imagine for his summer adventures. Just what did Albert do during his trip to Maine?

About the Author:
Author and illustrator Marty Kelley has spent many years cashing in on his breath-taking good looks as a highly sought after male model. Review:
The contrast between when Albert is telling his story and when his friends are making guesses as to his amazing adventures is illustrated in pictures that shift between black and white and wonderful colors. It is a clever device to help your students determine what is real and what is fantasy. --Brian Smith, Scholastic Blog for Teachers
As unique as it is entertaining, "Albert's Almost Amazing Adventure" is very highly recommended for children ages 5 to 8 and would prove to be an enduringly popular addition to elementary school and community library picture book collections. --Midwest Book Review
