Everyone knows the God who keeps the rules, and tells us to keep them, too. But most have never met the God who breaks the rules, and breaks them to bring us close. Religion needs an updated understanding of God. We have defined God and put Him in a box—when it is God who wants to define us. God is not satisfied with our living a limited life with a limited view of Him, full of confusion, hampered by doubt, and clouded despite the hundreds of thousands of churches, pastors, and sermons. Whether your rules are personal, religious, environmental, or societal, if He has to break them to get to you, He will. God will do whatever it takes to clarify you, call you, prepare you, and promote you. He broke the rules for David, for Abraham, for Moses, for Joshua, for Rahab, and He will break them for you too, if you let Him. Because when you’re ready to rediscover God, there’s not a single rule that can get in the way.

About the Author:
Sergio De La Mora is the visionary founder and pastor of Cornerstone Church of San Diego, ranked one of the fastest-growing churches in America by Outreach Magazine. Called the “Turn Around Specialist,” he has influenced a multi-generational and multiethnic community in both English and Spanish for almost twenty years. His passion and vision to plant churches with the purpose of reaching new territory for Christ led him to launch satellite campuses in La Jolla and San Marcos in California; Tucson, Arizona; and Tijuana, Tijuana Prison, and Mexico City. Sergio’s inspirational first book, The Heart Revolution, was released in both English and Spanish, as well as in audio book format (English). Sergio lives in San Diego with his wife, Georgina, and their six daughters.

Review:
"My friend, Sergio, has a gift for 'unlimiting' people! His new book helps us untie God's hands so they can work in our life. Get ready to go to another level."

--Bishop Dale C. Bronner, D. Min.
Senior pastor, Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral
Atlanta, GA
Author, Power Principles

"Sergio De La Mora in Paradox does a brilliant and profound job in both challenging our incorrect views while taking us on a biblical journey of discovering God at a deeper level. There is a freedom we receive when we clearly see God for who He is. The Father is longing to reveal Himself to us so that we can know Him and His nature at a deeper level. Every area in our lives that has embraced an incorrect view of God must be challenged. We must begin to see Him correctly if we are to experience the freedom Jesus paid a great price for. God is excessive in His love for you, extravagant in His forgiveness toward you, and outrageous in His grace to you. Sergio writes from a place of authority that will cause a shift in your life because this is a message he lives out and has been radically transformed by."

--Banning Liebscher
Jesus Culture Founder and Pastor

"If you're ready to break the status quo, disrupt legalistic beliefs, and overthrow common misconceptions about God, this is the book you need! Unequivocally one of the best books written by a man who has lived a life marked by broken rules of favor and promotion. Every chapter is biblically accurate, historically accountable, and culturally insightful. It's impossible to read this book and see God the same way."
--Samuel Rodriguez
President, National Hispanic Christian Leadership Coalition
Author, Be Light

"With his lifelong experience of planting churches and sharing Jesus beyond borders, Pastor Sergio is a true visionary with eyes to see past the rules and limits we often place on God. Paradox will stretch your understanding of who God is and demonstrate how God breaks through barriers to transform our lives. For anyone feeling stuck or constricted or who is questioning their understanding of God--this book is for you!"
--Chad Veach
Lead pastor, Zoe Church
Los Angeles, CA

"Paradox is riveting! Honestly, I've always loved Sergio De La Mora's teaching, but this book took it a step further by challenging me to quit living a limited life and begin to see God as He sees me...limitless!"
--Bil Cornelius
Best-selling author
Pastor, Church Unlimited

"Often I have shook my head and said, 'I don't get it. It doesn't make sense. How can it be?' And yet, it is! I am talking about the mystery that my friend Pastor Sergio De La Mora unpacks in his book Paradox that God broke the rules for you. We are all a living paradox--you don't have to understand it, just bask in it and celebrate His grace."
--Sam Chand
Leadership consultant
Author, Bigger Faster Leadership

"A paradoxical book by a paradoxical leader. I'm honored to know this man and own this book. Paradox navigates through the truth of the gospel to reveal the God grace leads us to encounter. Read this book--and learn from one of the best."
--Chris Durso
Author, The Heist: How Grace Robs Us of Our Shame

"My friend, Sergio, has written a paradigm-changing masterpiece that is an unorthodox merge of head and heart. One of the most insightful books I have ever read. Answering the honest questions we've all asked about God, Paradox creates a conversation between readers and God that is heart-revealing, thought-provoking, and life-changing. The more I read, the more I discovered the God who breaks the rules."
--Benny Perez
Lead pastor, ChurchLV

"This book will be the game changer in your relationship with God! Every pastor needs to read this, and then read it again and again!"
--Obed Martinez
Lead pastor, Destiny Church
Founder, Passionate Pastor's Network

"Pastor Sergio has revealed the truth that God never meant for rules to rule our lives. In fact, He's a wild, paradoxical rule-breaker who still knows how to get water out of a rock and finances out of fishes. It's not fair...it's favor! But God continues to break the rules for us...faults and all!"

--David Crank
Senior pastor of FaithChurch
St. Louis, MO, and West Palm Beach, FL

"In life, there are rules and principles that, if we follow them, will benefit us. But Jesus warned the religious leaders of His day about the 'limiting rules' they imposed on people, saying, 'Your traditions have made the Word of God of no effect.' (See Mark 7:13.) Pastor Sergio De La Mora's newest book, Paradox, unlocks fresh insight into limiting rules that have bound people and wrongly defined the God of grace, mercy, and power. Paradox will help anyone rediscover 'the God beyond the rules' by offering a deeper understanding that will fill them with confidence to step beyond the box of containment and live out the life Jesus paid so dear a price for us to experience."
--Pastors Art and Kuna Sepúlveda
Word of Life Christian Center
Honolulu, HI

"Paradox is fantastic and a must-read for everyone who wants to be used by God. Sergio De La Mora delivers real insights about how far God is willing to go to 'break the rules' to have a relationship with you. Each chapter reveals practical ways in which God wants to rewrite your rules and bring you back to Him. You do not want to miss out on Sergio's revelation of God's authority over all man-made, hindering rules."
--Dave Minton
Pastor, Capital Christian
Lacey, OR

"We have always intuitively known that we must be missing something when it comes to understanding God. This book is by far the strongest argument yet against the mundane Christianity that has plagued our culture. Sergio speaks into a new dimension of relationship with God that dismantles prior misinterpretations of Him. Paradox is one of the most important contributions to the church today!"
--Miles McPherson
Lead pastor, The Rock Church
San Diego, CA

"Pastor Sergio loves people and he loves Jesus. This book reflects these two factors, and I know it will be a blessing to anybody who reads it. When I think of "paradox," I think of the gospel message that impacts everybody, from a palace filled with well-known people, to a prison perhaps filled with forgotten people. Sergio covers the whole spectrum with his life and I'm glad he's written a book around this concept because we need more people who are willing 'to break some rules.' There is a reason why this pastor has such a multi-cultural and multi-generational impact and I'm excited to see how many lives this book can influence."
--Carl Lentz
Lead pastor, Hillsong NYC

"This book will be the game changer in your relationship with God! Every pastor needs to read this, and then read it again and again!"
--Obed Martinez
Lead pastor, Destiny Church
Founder, Passionate Pastor's Network
