Melanie Beroth Dobson is the owner of the media relations firm Dobson Media Group and a freelance writer. Her first book (Latte for One and Loving It! A Single Woman's Guide to Living Life to Its Fullest), which she co-authored with Tosha Williams, was released by Chariot Victor in February 2000.
Opportunities abound for single women to minister, travel, launch their careers, and cultivate their creative talents, says Melanie. Through this book, we hope to inspire single women to embrace life and pursue the dreams God has given them.
As the owner of Dobson Media, Melanie coordinates publicity for publishers, ministries and corporations. Before she developed her own company, Melanie was the corporate publicity manager at Focus on the Family where she was responsible for the publicity of Focus events, products, films and TV specials. She has worked in the fields of publicity and journalism for eight years including two years as a publicist for The Family Channel.
Melanie received her undergraduate degree in journalism from Liberty University in 1991, and in 1995 she completed her masters degree in communication, with a concentration in magazine journalism, at Regent University.
In May of 1998 (after writing the book), Melanie married Jon Dobson in Colorado Springs. She is now 30 years old, and she and Jon recently relocated from Colorado Springs to Richmond, Va. When she's not writing, Melanie enjoys traveling, exploring ghost towns, reading and hiking.
Informative and fun, this book is a perfect gift for young women, especially college students and recent graduates. Its practical counsel and friendly tone will guide single women to balanced, godly lives. It will benefit women who read it in one sitting and those who use it to complement individual Bible study. -- CBA Marketplace, February 2000
