Buster's Battery: A Cartoon History of the Army - Softcover

A Cartoon History of the  Army is an experimental series that I did for a number of years. It is a two-frame cartoon, with one frame explaining an event, unit or weapon and the second frame a cartoon based on what you just learned. I had a lot of fun with this series, since it involves two of my favorite things: history and cartooning. And, as it happened, the two-frame format was almost perfect for a small-format book... except that there was going to be a bit of dead space at the bottom of each page. So, I came up with small bits of trivia to add to each page. This was not as easy as it sounds, but I was able to write up with some good factoids, including things on OIF and Desert Storm. 

James "Doc" Crabtree has been drawing cartoons since high school, where he was in an accelerated fine arts program. He did some cartoons when he was enlisted in the United States Army but only became good enough to get published when he sat down and really studied the art of cartooning.
