From School Library Journal:
Gr 3–6—When Supergirl's spaceship slams into Earth and destroys the evil Lex Luthor's destructive robot, she has no idea where she is and no clue about how to get home. Luckily, she meets up with her heroic cousin, Superman, and tries to get a handle on the superpowers that she has now that she's on Earth. Supergirl goes undercover as Linda Lee at Stanhope Boarding School, but when she gets there, she's met with some nasty surprises: school is boring, everyone laughs at her, and she has an evil alter ego. Thankfully, as Linda, she makes a friend in Lena Thorul, but Lena is not who she seems. This is a lighthearted and breezy read. Trying to figure out how exactly Supergirl's powers work or character motivation is an exercise in futility, but that's no reason to dismiss the series. While the comic book is light on content, Supergirl is a fun heroine who is powerful in her own right. VERDICT Purchase where comic books are popular, and recommend to those who are looking for a quick summer read.—Morgan Brickey, Arlington Public Library, TX
