James is your run-of-the-mill teenage loner with an interest in the darker things in life. After failing to join one of the school sponsored clubs to make a friend or two, James wanders the streets in a slight melancholy. However, upon this walk, he stumbles upon a Serial Killer Book Club, something that seems like a joke until it’s not. They are all but ready to finish James off when he learns the true purpose of the club. In a last-ditch effort to save himself, James begs to join them. They accept on one condition. He must become a killer himself. Thus, James begins his career of becoming a serial killer. There is just one thing holding James back. He doesn’t know if he can do it. And another problem arises, he doesn’t know if he wants to leave the only people to ever give him attention; three oddball killers with unique preferences in victims. And to top all of that, tensions in the group rise over the merit of a book. This book takes them on a journey where James may be the only one to save them, but it comes at the price of killing.A Gentlemen Killers’ Society is an American political satire combined with a coming of age story. It is whacky, fourth-wall breaking, and dark at times. There is nothing quite like it.
